PIA Plane Crash: Cockpit voice recorder found

KARACHI: The cockpit voice recorder of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crashed plane has been found, which experts are calling the most important tool for investigation.

According to sources, a team of Airbus experts visited the crash site today and collected evidence where the experts also found the cockpit voice recorder of the plane.

A PIA spokesman confirmed the discovery of the cockpit voice recorder and said that it was found under the wreckage. The spokesman said that the cockpit voice recorder has been handed over to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board.

PIA Engineering, Technical Ground Support and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Vigilance also searched for the cockpit voice recorder, sources said.

However, the Airbus team will visit the control tower, approach and radar control today. Special briefings will be given to foreign experts at the Civil Aviation Headquarters and Pakistan International Airlines Head Office.

It may be recalled that on May 22, a PIA plane coming from Lahore to Karachi crashed, killing 97 people, including the crew, while two people miraculously survived.
