PIA plane stopped in Kuala Lumpur ready to return

KUALA LUMPUR: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane grounded in Kuala Lumpur has been allowed to return home.
According to Baaghi TV reports, the Boeing 777 plane owned by PIA was stopped by Malaysian authorities on the orders of a local court. However, the court order to ground the plane has now been suspended.
Within three days, PIA’s legal team worked to have the court order suspended allowing for the plane to be released for return to Pakistan.

On May 26, a local court in Malaysia issued orders to stop the plane without either summoning or issuing notice(s) to PIA.
The order to stop the plane was received by PIA and relevant airport authorities merely minutes before take-off, on May 29.

According to preliminary reports, the PIA plane had been stopped citing reasons of ‘unpaid dues’, confirmed Dawn News.
The aircraft is expected to depart for Islamabad via flight PK6893 from Kuala Lumpur as soon as the transit permit is received.
