PIA safety audit successfully completed by IATA experts

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has successfully completed its International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) 2020 audit. According to details, PIA is the first and only airline in Pakistan to have IOSA registration, which is an internationally recognised safety standard. A four-member operational safety audit team of IOSA was in Pakistan for a week-long audit and are slated to leave on Friday night. According to sources, foreign experts conducted operational safety audits of various departments of PIA, including its flight operations, ground handling, flight safety and security and engineering. The team included a Turkish expert, two Englishmen and another European national. PIA all set for IATA Operational Safety Audit The operational safety audit was previously conducted by PIA in 2018. The team had a busy day on Monday and took a detailed tour of the airport’s ramp area where aircrafts are parked, unloaded or loaded. The team stayed at the ramp for more than two hours, inspecting the loading and unloading process, as well as checked emails containing various registers and records.
