PIA Starts Special Flight Operations for the Middle East
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially started their special flight operations for the Middle East after the first flight PK-9501 left Karachi for Damascus earlier today.
According to the details, the Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, chief executive officer (CEO) of the national flag carrier Air Marshal (R) Arshad Malik and the Syrian Ambassador were also present on the flight.
More than 300 passengers left for Damascus on a Boeing 777. On arrival at Damascus Airport, the PIA plane was given a water cannon salute. PIA will operate 12 flights to Najaf, 2 to Baghdad and 4 to Damascus.
UK removes Pakistan from COVID-19 Red List
The special PIA operation will continue till September 24, 2021. Flights will depart directly from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
CEO Arshad Malik said that the flight operation for pilgrims on important religious occasions has been started and the national airline is in the forefront in taking the pilgrims to the holy place.
