Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to start flights from Sialkot to Skardu as part of efforts to boost tourism in the country.
In this regard, sources said that national flag carrier will operate flights from Sialkot to Skardu from July 3, 2021, however, the flights from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore to Skardu will operate as per schedule.
According to sources, the national flag carrier has also announced a special 50 percent discount on the import of cherries from Skardu. There will be a discount on import of cherries for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot.

The PIA administration says that PIA will charge Rs 150 per kg instead of Rs 300 per kg for bringing cherries. Passengers will be able to bring cherries as gifts for their loved ones and relatives.
The national airline will also give special discounts on import of cherries through PIA cargo.
