PIA launched direct weekly passenger flights between Islamabad and Chengdu following the formal approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to operate its weekly flights on the Islamabad-Chengdu route. The direct flights between both cities enhance bilateral ties.
Chengdu is the third destination other than Beijing for the national flag carrier. In March, PIA was allowed to operate flights for the Chinese cities of Xian and Guangzhou from Pakistan. According to the schedule, PK-870 will take off from Islamabad Int’l Airport at 8 am every Wednesday, and will arrive at Chengdu Shuangliu Int’l Airport at 4 pm local time after a flight duration of approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes.
On the same day, PK-871 will depart from Chengdu at 6 pm local time and will reach Islamabad at 8:20 pm local time after a flight of 5 hours and 20 minutes.
