LAHORE (6th Nov, 2019): The justice system in Pakistan is known to be inequitable, faulty and exploitative.
According to history books, when Pakistan came into existence as a newly formed state in August of 1947, it also inherited the judicial system carried forth by the British Raj developed under its colonial rule.
It is an unfortunate reality that the justice system in Pakistan is faulty, even more so for the poor and underprivileged strata of the society. It is therefore, an utmost priority for the legal system to be made efficient and effective so that it may be able to sustain itself.
Following the recent bail of former PM Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, a picture has surfaced showing two local females of the lower class in jail.
Alas! this picture breaks my heart and hopefully that of others so that the society may unite to strive for progress of the state. For Pakistan to become a progressive and welfare state, this is a most needed change, rather it is need of the hour. It is largely even the primary cause for why the state continues to remain underdeveloped.
