Lahore: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company will set up 1000 acres’ state of the art industrial zone in Sialkot. PIEDMC and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry reached to consensus on the establishment of industrial zone. Sialkot Chamber President Imran Akbar and former President Qaiser Baryar called on Chairman PIEDMC Syed Nabeel Hashmi to finalize matters. CEO PIEDMC Ali Moazzam Syed, GM Technical Farrukh Johri, GM Coordination Omar Saeed and GM Business Development Amna Faisal Shah were also present on the occasion. The meeting agreed to set up an industrial zone at Sohawala on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway. Quaid-e-Azam Business Park model will be adopted for the proposed Sialkot Industrial Zone. A state-of-the-art expo center and multipurpose complex will be built with factory outlets, conference rooms, IT centers and offices. Chairman PIEDMC Syed Nabil Nabeel Hashmi directed the management to present the detailed working paper of Sialkot Industrial Zone in the next meeting of the board for final approval. Sialkot Chamber delegation assured full cooperation in setting up the industrial zone. Chairman PIEDMC Syed Nabeel Hashmi said that like other industrial zones, Sialkot Industrial Zone would also have its own grid station and distribution system so that uninterrupted supply of electricity could be possible. The consultancy and planning work of this project will be completed in the current financial year۔
