Plastic Bags To Be Banned in Punjab: Zartaj Gul

Federal Minister for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said that plastic bags have been banned in the capital territory of Islamabad since August 14.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Zartaj Gul said that the plastic bags are soon to be banned in Punjab as well and everyone must play a serious role in order to impose sanctions. While talking to the Media, the Federal Minister told that plastic bags are the main reason for the blockage of sewerage system in Karachi.

Zartaj Gul further said that around five billion plastic bags are used in the country annually. She also appealed the media to support this campaign against plastic bags.

Federal Minister for Climate Change added that the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar is going to announce the ban on plastic bags in the province. It is our duty to improve the environment and stop the usage of plastic bags.
