PM decides to hold debate on Sialkot case in NA, Senate

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has decided to hold a debate in the Parliament on the Sialkot incident, following which a meeting of the Senate on December 20, 2021 and National Assembly (NA) on December 22, 2021 has been convened.

According to the details, PM Imran Khan decided to hold a debate in Parliament on the Sialkot incident. In this regard, important meetings of the NA and Senate have been convened on the direction of the Prime Minister.

The Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani was consulted by Dr. Babar Awan, Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs, after which a meeting of the Senate has been convened on December 20, 2021 and National Assembly on December 22, 2021.

Dr Babar Awan said that the Prime Minister has directed that the Sialkot tragedy be discussed in the Parliament.

It may be recalled that Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan and Chief Secretary Dr Kamran Ali Afzal had briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan on the progress in the investigation into the Sialkot tragedy.

After which the Prime Minister had directed that incidents like these should be strictly prevented and a joint strategy should be worked out to prevent any such incidents in future.
