PM directs to introduce a bill against physical violence

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to present the anti-violence bill in the National Assembly soon.

Tweeting on the social networking site Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that violence is unacceptable in a civilized democratic society. I have asked the Home Ministry to introduce the anti-violence bill in the National Assembly soon.

Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that in any civilized democratic society there is absolutely no room for physical torture. This is contrary to the spirit of Islam, the Constitution of Pakistan and the international legal treaties to which we are a part of.

It should be noted that Parliamentary Affairs Advisor Babar Awan had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday. Important constitutional, legal and national issues were discussed during the meeting. Consultations were held on legislative and parliamentary matters relating to the FATF. Babar Awan briefed the Prime Minister on FATF legislation.

The Prime Minister directed the National Assembly and the Senate to convene on Monday. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that FATF rules will be passed in any case.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that legislation in the interest of national security and public interest should not be delayed. Every possible step is being taken to provide relief to the common man, with full focus on improving the economic and social conditions.
