Sept 6, 2021: In separate messages on the occasion of Defense Day and Martyrs’ Day, President Arif Ali and PM Imran Khan renewed their commitment that Pakistan would never compromise on its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

Alvi said that Pakistan, fully aware of the developments in its neighborhood, was “committed to securing peace and ready to thwart any conspiracy to disrupt peace”. He appreciated the tireless efforts of the security forces to expose the enemy carrying out “covert activities” in Pakistan.

Alvi stressed that Pakistan would never back down from its principled stand on the issue of occupied Kashmir.

PM Imran Khan said that brave soldiers and officers, pilots and sailors fought bravely and did not care about their lives and defended the borders by making great sacrifices.

Recalling the 1965 war with India, PM Imran Khan said: “When India launched an undeclared war against Pakistan on September 6, the whole nation came out in support of its defenders. Many people marched towards the border. Such a demonstration of national unity has already inflamed the passionate armed forces in their fearless fight against the enemy, which has no precedent in history.”

He said that the nation saluted the brave sons of the soil for sacrificing their lives in defense of their country. PM Imran Khan said that India has not accepted peaceful coexistence since the creation of Pakistan, adding that apart from four wars, it has been involved in “sabotage and cyber war” against Pakistan.

“Unfortunately, in the past, India has been using Afghan territory against Pakistan to carry out terrorism to spread unrest in Pakistan,” he said.

“Due to the active diplomacy of our government, the international community is now convinced that the oppression of minorities across India and the ongoing atrocities on innocent Kashmiris in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir must end immediately,” PM Imran Khan.

PM Imran Khan said that India has to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination under UN Security Council resolutions.  According to PM Imran Khan, the Pakistani government will continue to expose the true face of radical India. He added that “international elements” recognize Pakistan’s role in peace in the region.

“I reiterate that our desire for peace should not be seen as a weakness but should be transformed for the economic well-being and prosperity of the people throughout the region,” he added.

PM Imran Khan added, “My message to the brave Armed Forces on this day is that we have come a long way in our struggle to make Pakistan’s defense stronger and more invincible. Our resilient nation and tough armed forces in war have repeatedly proved that we are fully capable of defending the country and are ready to deal with any situation. Let us always keep the flame of September alive in our hearts and minds.”

PM Imran Khan concluded his message saying, “Let us pay tribute to our Shuhada and Ghazis and reaffirm our commitment to defend Pakistan and its security and sovereignty at all costs.”
