Sept 8, 2021: Minister for Planning Asad Umar and other ministers called on PM Imran Khan.

The Prime Minister was apprised of the progress on various ongoing projects for the development of Karachi and further steps that will be taken to improve the situation.

PM Imran Khan  said that the federal government would ensure the provision of transport facilities to the people in the largest city of Pakistan. In the past, governments neglected Karachi, the economic hub of the country. Asad Umer and PM Imran Khan agreed the top priority of the government was to make the Karachi better for its residents.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also called on PM Imran Khan and discussed party affairs and the overall political situation in the country, as well as the overall situation in Afghanistan and the region.

In a meeting with PM Imran Khan, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar briefed the Prime Minister on the progress on construction of industrial zones, achievement of export target, steps for development of small and medium enterprises and implementation of auto policy.

PM Imran Khan was further informed that the production of large scale industries is expected to exceed the target set for the current financial year which is welcome for the economic situation of the country.

Newly appointed Chief Secretary of Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal and IG Rao Sardar Ali Khan also called on PM Imran Khan. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and IG Rao Sardar Ali Khan participated through video link.

During the meeting, administrative matters of Punjab province and law and order situation were discussed.

PM Imran Khan directed the Chief Secretary to ensure effective administrative measures to control the prices of essential commodities.

The Prime Minister directed the IG Punjab to take strict legal action against law and order, occupation mafia and corrupt elements.
