Oct 21, 2021: Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday.
No government official spoke about the prime minister’s meeting with Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum. However, an informed source revealed that the notification confirming the appointment of Lieutenant General Anjum as the new DG ISI is expected to be issued in the next few days.
The notification is expected to be issued on Friday, sources said. He further said that Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum was the only three star general who called on the Prime Minister on Wednesday.
Sources said that Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum is expected to take charge as the new DG ISI within the next week while the current head of ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed will later take charge as Corps Commander Peshawar.
The ISPR made the announcement on October 6.
Lieutenant General Anjum was the commander in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, and was the Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan during Operation Redalfsad. He has also commanded V Corps Sindh.
ISPR had earlier said that Lieutenant General Anjum is a graduate of National Defense University Islamabad and has a master’s degree from King’s College London.
