Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned the newly elected Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and called for a political solution to the Afghan issue. Moreover,the Kashmir issue has also been discussed. He thanked the Tehran government for its continued support.
The Prime Minister congratulated Ibrahim Raisi on winning the Iranian presidential election. In addition to congratulating him, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the newly elected Iranian President also invited each other to visit their respective countries.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed Pak-Iran relations, the situation in Afghanistan and the Kashmir issue. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders agreed to further enhance Pak-Iran economic cooperation.
Expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed concern that the influx of refugees could pose a serious threat to both Pakistan and Iran. The Prime Minister also expressed concern over the situation in Occupied Kashmir and Palestine. The two leaders called for resolving long-standing disputes in accordance with the Security Council resolutions.
