PM Imran Khan’s 5 point green agenda recognized globally: Amin

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (APP): Adviser to the prime minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Wednesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s five point green agenda to address environmental degradation was being globally recognized.

The adviser in a message said the world was considering the green agenda comprising of 10 billion tree plantation, recharge Pakistan, ban on plastic bags, clean green Pakistan index launched in 20 cities and Electric Vehicle Policy as forward looking programme that would simultaneously benefit the region and the world.

He said, “We are lucky that the recent Time Magazine’s cover page of special edition on World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 depicted Prime Minister Imran Khan among the top five significant leaders raising voice for environment conservation and discussing climate change at global forums.”

Amin said, “We are looking forward to the Prime Minister’s speech at WEF 2020 in Davos and expecting to see him highlighting these serious global issues of environmental degradation and climate change at the Forum.”

Around 47 percent people at WEF 2020 had polled that world leaders must address climate change and environmental issues, he added.
