Islamabad, 7th May: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to gradually open the lockdown from Saturday. According to the PM, the lockdown will open in phases from the next week.

Briefing on the situation of COVID-19, PM Khan said that the first case of Corona came to light in the country on February 26. Like the rest of the world, Pakistan also locked down. The daily wagers were affected the most due to the lockdown in the country.

Khan was afraid that the virus could rise so high that our hospitals would become full, but thank God such a situation has not happened as yet and the virus is under control. PM is afraid that still, the coronavirus cases could surge and if it becomes out of control, then the country will have to be put under a lockdown again. The people will have to cooperate with the government.

Lockdown to be lifted from Saturday in Pakistan

 

 

In this regard, the Prime Minister further said that in order to avoid the effects of lockdown, SOPs have to be implemented, we will become a nation and go to the next phase.

He said that provinces have reservations on opening public transport, but according to him the public transport should run as it will benefit the common man. However,  no decision will be made without the consent of the provinces. The public transport should be opened under SOPs. People have to go under self-quarantine.

Khan further said that the coronavirus has not attacked Pakistan the same way in Europe due to which the pressure on our nation is less.

Prime Minister informs that the virus spread is on the rise in the country, however, it can be controlled by social distancing.
