Lahore, 11th March: Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated his candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman Senate.
Baaghi TV: According to reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Mirza Mohammad Afridi as the government’s candidate for the post of deputy Senate chairman.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz made the announcement on Twitter:
He tweeted, “Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Senator Mirza Mohammad Afridi for Deputy Chairman Slot giving representation to Ex FATA PTI member.”

Among the names of Faisal Javed Khan, Ejaz Chaudhry and Mirza Mohammad Afridi for the slot of deputy chairman in the Senate, Afridi got picked by the premier.
As per reports, the Senate will elect a new chairman and the deputy chairman of the house tomorrow.
PTI has named BAP’s Sadiq Sanjrani as a candidate for the chairmanship of the Senate, while Mirza Afridi for the deputy chairman position.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has already named former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani and Ghafoor Haideri for the chairman and the deputy chairman senate slots respectively.
As per the official website of the Senate of Pakistan, Afridi is an independent candidate from FATA who has been a Senator since March 2018 and his tenure will last till March 2024.
