Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today visited the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad to condole the tragic death of Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.
On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said he is in deep grief and shock upon listening to the martyrdom of Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in the incident. He said we express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Iran in this time of sorrow and grief. He said all our sympathies and prayers are with the families of the martyrs and the people of Iran.
Shehbaz Sharif said President Dr. Syed Ebrahim Raisi was a brilliant scholar and visionary leader. He added Pakistan today lost a friend like Dr. Raisi.
The Prime Minister said services Dr. Syed Ebrahim Raisi to his own nation as well as to the strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and regional cooperation will always be remembered.
He said President Raisi’s visit to Pakistan last month further strengthened our bilateral relations. He prayed the Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul a higher status in heaven
Speaking on the occasion, Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Pakistani nation for standing with Iran in this difficult time. He said late President Dr. Raisi also considered Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as the best human being and a friend of Iran.
The Ambassador said he values a lot to the sentiments and words of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for late President Raisi.
He added that late President Ebrahim Raisi’s vision of strengthening and promoting Pakistan-Iran relations will be continued.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also penned down his remarks in the visitor’s book of the embassy in honor of the Iranian President.
