Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leadership has decided to appoint Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman, a former Federal Minister from South Punjab, as the Governor of Punjab.
According to sources, PML-N has decided to make Baligh-ur-Rehman the Governor of Punjab, a summary of which has also been sent by the Prime Minister to the President.
Baligh-ur-Rehman has also been the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training and Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training in the previous PML-N government.
Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had said in a statement yesterday that Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema is a guest for 6 days and a new Governor Punjab will be appointed.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) delegation called on Hamza Shehbaz today and congratulated him on becoming the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab. According to sources, the PPP had proposed the name of Makhdoom Ahmed Mahdoom for the governorship of Punjab to PML-N.
