PML-N turn to SJC against Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi
Ruling party PML-N has turned to the Supreme Judicial Council against Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi in connection with an alleged audio leak case.
A complaint pertaining to the alleged audio leak has been filed against Justice Sayyed Muhammad Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi. The transcript of the alleged conversation with Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has also been included in the application. It has been said in the petition that the code of conduct has been violated, an arrest should be made and action should be taken against Justice Mazahir Naqvi under Article 209.

Earlier, the reference had been sent to the Secretary Supreme Judicial Council on behalf of Advocate Mian Dawood. In the reference, it has been requested to investigate the Supreme Court judge, his family’s properties, and the audio leak.
In the reference, it has been appealed that the Supreme Judicial Council should investigate the assets of Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi which are worth more than 3 billion rupees.

Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi has one kanal plot in Federal Employees Housing Society. Additionally, he has one kanal plot in Supreme Court Housing Society, a 2 kanal 4 marla plot in Gulberg 3 Lahore, a 4 kanal plot in St John Park Lahore Cantt. The assets also include an undisclosed plaza in Gujranwala Allied Park.
Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi allegedly amended the annual returns 3 times in 2021, the returns were amended to adjust the value of the house in Gujranwala DHA. First, the value of the house was shown as 47 lakhs, then 6 crores, and then 72 crores.
