Police continues to retrieve occupied lands of citizens worth billions of rupees
Lahore: Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has said that Lahore Police has taken prompt action to retrieve occupied lands and properties of citizens worth billions of rupees from the land grabbers and goons during the last seven months.
CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar while giving details said, Lahore Police retrieved land and properties of more than 477 citizens comprising more than 4996 kanals area worth approximately rupees 73.27 billions. More than seven hundred accused criminals including land grabbers and goons were also arrested involved in illegal possession on citizens properties during the last seven months, he added. Lahore Police also arrested as many as 4341 criminals including goons and vagabonds and recovered from them illegal weapons including 58 kalashinkov, 431 rifles, 244 guns, 29 revolvers, 38179 pistols, 05 carbine and around 46 thousands bullets. Crackdown against land grabbers has accelerated on the directions of CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar as Lahore Police in supervision of related SsP retrieved costly land and properties of four more citizens worth millions of rupees from the land grabbers. According to the spokesperson Lahore Police, Police retrieved one canal plot at Clifton Colony Cantt worth millions of rupees of a resident of Iqbal Town Malik Sarwar from two notorious land grabbers Bao Gujjar and Malik Chand who had illegal possession on his plot for last six months. Similarly house of Abdul Kareem resident of Chungi Amar Sadho Naseer Abad and a six marla house of a citizen Zafar Iqbal of Cantt area was retrieved from the illegal occupants. Police also restored possession of a ten marla inherited plot of resident of Ravi Road Ejaz Khan from the land grabbers. These citizens had tried hard on different plate farms to get possession of their land and properties but failed. Ultimately the citizens had submitted written complaints at Anti Qabza Cell of Capital City Police Headquarters Lahore where related Committee members comprising Police, Revenue, Overseas Pakistanis Commission, LDA and Cooperatives departments thoroughly checked the documented proofs as well as legalities and finally directed Lahore Police for action against the land grabbers. On the directions of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, relevant Police officers took prompt action and retrieved the possession of lands and properties from the accused land mafia. These citizens called on Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar in his office today and expressed their gratitude for provision of speedy justice and possession of their land and properties. Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said indiscriminate action has also been taken against notorious goons who, earlier pressurized simpleton people at their farm houses and Deras during their illegal Panchayat system by harassing citizens to accept their forced decisions pertaining to vested interests regarding properties. CCPO Lahore further said the attendance of notorious goons at police stations on regular basis has been made mandatory so that a permanent check on their routine activities could be made possible to refrain them from involving in any criminal activity. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said Lahore is city of civilized and gentle people and he will not let any Badmash or land grabbers to harass and possess their lands and properties. He reiterated his pledge to free Lahore from Qabza Mafia and their facilitators with the cooperation of citizens.
