Lahore: Khawaja Khawar Rashid, president of the Lahore chapter of the Punjab Dyes and Chemicals Merchants Association, former senior vice president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and leader of the Founders Group, has said that suspending senior police officers without a full investigation into the Minar Pakistan incident is the right step.

Therefore, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar should immediately reinstate all police officers and conduct a high-level investigation into the Minar Pakistan incident.

In a statement, Khawaja Khawar Rashid said that new facts are coming to light every day in the incident of abuse of a woman in Minar-e-Pakistan, but immediately after the incident, senior police officers were suspended without investigation, which is a worrying step. Controlling crime is a big challenge for the police and they are trying to get rid of it, but due to a female tiktocker, senior police officers were removed from their posts. He said that if the woman who was the victim of the abuse was also interrogated, more facts would come to light, possibly a conspiracy to discredit Pakistan in the international arena which must be foiled. He said that the sanctity and respect of women is the duty of everyone but it should be inquired as to why the situation at a historical place like Iqbal Park has reached this level.
He appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar to immediately reinstate the suspended police officers and bring the facts to light by interrogating the abused woman and her accomplices so that Pakistan’s name could be save.
