Police recovers Rs2.2m of old lady

 

Lahore: Lahore Police following the principles of citizens centric policing, recovered an amount of rupees 22 lac of an old lady from the culprits and handed over to the actual owner.

According to the details, Shumaila Bibi widow of a retired deceased employee Muhammad Saeed Qazi was issued rupees 22 lac by government as gratuity amount of her husband. The real nephew of the old lady Abdul Jabbar with the help of his friend Munir Ahmad fraudulently debited the said amount from the bank account of the affected woman and did not give a single penny to the old woman. The widow tried her level using different avenues and authorities for the recovery of her looted amount but failed. The widow Shumaila Bibi, ultimately accessed the Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Fayyaz Ahmad Dev for redress of her grievances . The CCPO Lahore after listening to the grievance of the lady, tasked SSP Discipline Ejaz Rashid to recover the looted amount at the earliest. SSP Discipline within the record short period of eight days, recovered the whole amount from the culprits. The aggrieved woman met the CCPO Lahore Fayyaz Ahmad Dev on Thursday in his office and expressed her gratitude on speedy action and justice provided to her by the Lahore Police. SSP Discipline Ejaz Eashid, DSP Kashif Dogar, Inspector Hammad and other senior police officers were present on this occasion. The CCPO Fayyaz Ahmad Dev handed over the recovered amount to Shumaila Bibi and also managed to submit the said amount safely in the account of widow at National Saving Centre on in supervision of police personnel.
