February 16, 2021: District Health Authority has fired polio workers today. Polio workers protest in front of the Chief Executive Officer of the District Health Authority. They say they worked for seven months and paid only for 89 days. It has been said from today that all polio workers have been fired. The workers accused the officials of wanting to keep the budget for the polio worker salaries for themselves.
Polio workers worked for seven months but only 89 days’ salary was deducted, the protesting employees said. Today, the Chief Executive Officer Lahore suddenly fired thousands of polio workers, who were recruited for polio campaign, typhoid campaign and corona. It is the fault of DDOH of every town that they made the polio workers work beyond the 89 days for which they were paid according to Chief Executive Officer of District Health Authority, Dr. Siddique Mastoi.
