Islamabad (21st Aug, 2019): Popular family restaurant, Savor Foods, located in the capital’s Blue Area has been fined and sealed for use of plastic bags.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the public favorite family eatery has been fined an approximate Rs. 2 lakh. The fine has reportedly been imposed on the restaurant due to continued use of plastic bags despite the government having banned plastic bags.
Moreover, it has been reported that the restaurant management has misbehaved with the inspection team during their checkup due to which the building has been sealed alongside the heavy fine. A case has been filed against the management while all those who behaved badly have been arrested, respectively as confirmed by sources.
The investigation team was led by Pakistan Environment Protection Agency Director General Farzana Altaf who visited many shopping malls and bazaars to ensure the ban on plastic bags was being implemented, imposing fine on anyone shop not following the ban in the capital. The team additionally attempted to raise awareness against the use of plastic bags in the people.
