Ahead of Human Rights Day, multiple Hurriyat organizations put up posters across Srinagar and surrounding areas, calling on international human rights bodies to act against serious violations by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The posters also urged the global community to address the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The posters highlighted the plight of jailed leaders, including APHC chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasim Malik, and Aasiya Andrabi, alongside images of homes and properties destroyed by Indian forces. They called for an immediate end to human rights abuses and political injustices, emphasizing that Kashmiris continue to be deprived of fundamental rights, including the right to self-determination.
The posters also condemned India’s systematic state terrorism, citing the attachment of properties, lands, and homes, as well as termination of Kashmiri employees in IIOJK, and urged the international community to take urgent action to ensure justice.
The campaign coincides with the global observance of Human Rights Day on December 10, marking the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations in 1948. Posters were also circulated widely on social media platforms including X, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
