Princess Raiyah marries Roald Dahl’s grandson
10th July: Princess Raiyah Bint Al Hussein, the youngest daughter of Queen Noor and the late King Hussein of Jordan, recently married a British journalist Ned Donovan.
According to the international media reports, Ned Donovan happens to be author Roald Dahl’s grandson.
The marriage ceremony was the first royal wedding of the pandemic, which was an intimate, socially distanced ceremony in the UK on Tuesday.

The ceremony took place outside in the courtyard, where Queen Noor and a few other guests were in attendance.
The bride wore a stunning long-sleeved gown with delicate lace detailing along with a long veil. The jeweled headpiece which she wore was out of her mother’s brooch. The groom looked dapper in a classic morning suit with a blue vest.

After the ceremony, Princess Raiyah posted a few pictures from the day on her Twitter account. She thanked her well-wishers for their messages.
She wrote that it was now safer in the UK so they held the wedding and announced that another ceremony will take place in Jordan shortly.

“Thank you all for your kind messages on our wedding! While it was originally planned for April in Jordan, the pandemic derailed those plans and it was safer for my husband’s family to hold it in the UK,” she wrote. “God willing we look forward to celebrating in Jordan once the situation allows.”
