Protests continue 21 injured in Gujranwala, road blocks in several cities including Lahore as protests continue across the country

April 13, 2021:  According to a report by Baaghi TV, protests have been going on in the country since yesterday after the arrest of Hafiz Saad Rizvi, the leader of Tehreek-e-Libaik.

14 places of Lahore are closed for traffic Chongi Amrsad is closed for traffic, Bhatta Chowk, Shahkam Chowk, Mand Ply Raiwind are also closed for traffic, Orphanage Chowk, Khayaban Chowk is also closed for traffic at Shahpur Kanjran. Traffic is slow. Shahdara turn, Imamia Colony gate is also closed for traffic. Mandala Road, New Shadbagh Chowk, Karol Ghati and A Scheme turn are also closed for traffic.

On the Raiwind and Multan road, there were clashes between police and protesters, police fired tear gas at the protesters shelling to disperse the police, the demonstrators tried to open the road by police on Multan Road, Chongqing in amrsdu also fired tear gas at protesters from the police, Protest sit-in continues at Chanda Qila Chowk, Gujranwala. Shelling was used to disperse the protesters. 21 protesters were injured by baton charges and shelling. They were shifted to hospital for medical treatment. Several policemen were also involved in the clashes.

Protests continue in Sahiwal Road has been blocked on GT Road near Eastern Bypass, people are facing problems due to closure of National Highway due to protests. Athal Chowk Bhara Kahu Islamabad is completely closed on both sides. 100/120 workers are sitting on the road from Murree to Islamabad with mats and chanting slogans and giving speeches from time to time. Voices of Labaik Yarsoul are being raised through the sound system. Slogans and speeches are being made.

Protests on Bahawalpur Sutlej are still going on. Road is blocked, police say those going to and coming from Multan should also be careful. Take alternative routes. The Bahawalpur bypass is completely blocked. From Billiwala to Multan City take Bakar Mandi Road via Kent Road.

It should be noted that after the announcement of the Honorable Prophet’s March, the government arrested Hafiz Saad Rizvi, the head of Tehreek-e-Libaik. The claim of arrest of Hafiz Saeed Rizvi was being made on social media by the workers of Tehreek-e-Labaik. A tweet from a Twitter ID created by the women said that Hafiz Mohammad Saad Hussain Rizvi Damat Barakat-ul-Alia, Central Amir of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan, was arrested from Lahore.

The main leader of Tehreek-e-Libaik confirmed in a telephone conversation with Baaghi TV correspondent Faiz Chughtai that Hafiz Saad Rizvi has been arrested and we are working out a plan of action for the future. Earlier, Hafiz Saad Rizvi, Ameer of Tehreek-e-Labaik, announced that if the French ambassador was not deported, the march would start from the shrine of Allama Khadim Rizvi at 12 noon on April 20. At the meeting of the Central Council of Tehreek-e-Labaik, the 21-member Central Council unanimously declared the Holy Prophet’s March.
