As per sources, three Muslims were killed by police firing on a protest rally in Bangalore against an insulting Facebook post.

The situation in the Indian city of Bangalore is tense. Indian police personnel is deployed in various places, people are not allowed to leave their homes in Muslim-populated areas. Several houses and vehicles have been set on fire in the siege, and police have arrested 110 Muslims.
According to the Regional Telegraph, the riots erupted when a relative of a Congress MLA posted an insulting post on Facebook writing degrading things on the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Local Muslims applied to the local police station to register a case against the accused, but the police took no notice. The protesters became enraged and started damaging police vehicles and other property.
Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. Three people were killed and hundreds were injured, while at least two dozen police vehicles were set on fire.
