February 15, 2021: The Governor Punjab made serveral statements about the current political climate on the occasion.
He said, “The no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister is a new political ploy of the opposition. Political opponents should not forget the result of a no-confidence motion against the Chairman Senate. If the opposition does want to fulfill the desire of taking forward a no-confidence motion then they need to do it with enthusiasm. Imran Khan as Prime Minister and the government will remain until 2023. The PDM is making new announcements to keep the political atmosphere warm. It is still time for the opposition to support the open ballot in the Senate elections. Open ballot will restore transparency in the Senate elections and the sanctity of the upper house. Government and coalition center candidates will either way stand to gain, whether by secret ballot or otherwise.”
He further added, “criticism of Pakistan’s armed forces is against national interests.” The Provincial minister for housing Mahmood Al Rasheed said, “The opposition should do politics but not conspire to make national institutions controversial. Justice under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is united. Independent Justice has a mandate to rule for 5 years.General elections will be held on time and according to schedule. The opposition’s tactics will fail.” Mahmood Al Rasheed.
