PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Girlfriend attacked and robbed in Paris
PARIS: Paris-Saint Germain (PSG)’s Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his girlfriend were attacked and robbed in his apartment on Thursday, confirmed the Paris prosecutor’s office.
According to CNN reports, the prosecutor’s office said: “An investigation has been launched into charges of armed robbery, gang kidnapping and aggravated violence” after the events which took place in Donnarumma’s apartment on Thursday evening. A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said that the special French police unit initiated its investigation on Friday.

Speaking with the media, Donnarumma’s agent said that the goalkeeper and his girlfriend “are in shock” but they are “doing well under the terrible circumstances”. Moreover, the agent stated that the couple is assisting the police with their “inquiries”.
On the other hand, BFM TV which is an affiliate of CNN reported that the couple had been taken to the hospital on Friday morning because of shock however, they were not hurt.

It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first incident of its kind. Earlier, the homes of PSG players Marquinhos (Marcos Aoás Corrêa) and Ángel Di María had been raided in the Paris region, in March 2021.
Meanwhile, the PSG squad is scheduled to travel to Japan on Saturday for a pre-season summer tour. During the trip to Japan, Paris-Saint Germain will play matches against Cerezo Osaka and Al-Nassr in Osaka before facing off against Inter Milan in Tokyo according to CNN reports.
