Complications begin to arise with Pakistan’s popular brand Pakistan Super League. Franchise owners have expressed surprise at an increase in expenses despite the event having been held in Pakistan.

Franchise owners have written to the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) regarding the issues and their concerns, asking them to be solved. Sources say that in order to save the PSL, The Chief Executive PCB Wasim Khan has also been contacted and the franchises have conveyed their problems to the board.

Sources say that the franchise owners are unhappy with the attitude and decisions of the board and upset at expenses increasing despite the event being held in Pakistan. They are also unhappy with the demand for payment of dues instead of pool sharing.

Sources also say that the franchise owners had to get together to talk to the board because their concerns had not been resolved. There are demands relating to ending the bank guarantee, extending ownership rights, and the formation of a separate company. There is also a demand to fix a limit for the dollar rate and ending the new tax. The franchises have complained that in the past also, concerns were pointed out but not addressed and their participation was not sought in important matters.

The franchises fear that the attitude of the board management is going to bring a bad name to the PSL and no meeting of the Governing Council has been summoned in order to address their issues and concerns.
