PTA asks Zong to pull back 5G advertisement

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) asked the Cellular Mobile Operator (CMO), Zong to take down all the advertisements of 5G technology circulated in electronic and print media.

The advertisement misguided the public as if only Zong was allowed to take test and trial of 5G technology as it is still not allowed to offer any kind of commercial mobile services yet on 5G technology.

Earlier on Monday, the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology was briefed about the framework and planning of testing 5G technology. Furthermore, the senate body was informed that the 5G technology will be made available by 2021.
