Sunday, June 21st: The PTI government has decided to borrow billions of rupees more for the BRT project.

According to Baaghi TV report, the PTI provincial government has decided to borrow another Rs 9.66 billion for the completion of the BRT project in Peshawar. In the new financial year, the provincial government has borrowed Rs 90 billion from banks and foreign institutions. Rs 31.61 billion loan will be obtained from Asian Bank. Rs 11.63 billion will be borrowed from the International Development Agency, Rs 2.9 billion from the World Bank and Rs 1.10 billion from JICA, budget documents have been released.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has refused to give a new date for the completion of the Peshawar BRT project, the only mega project of the PTI government in Peshawar, saying that they will soon surprise the people of Peshawar with regard to the BRT project. Khan will inaugurate the project.

During the post-budget press conference of Provincial Finance Minister Timur Saleem Jhagra at the Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Saturday, the Finance Minister was asked that there was no mention of PTI’s mega project Peshawar BRT in the budget for the new financial year 2020-21. When will this project be completed?

Replying to this, Ajmal Wazir, Provincial Adviser for Information instead of Finance Minister, said that Peshawar BRT project has been completed and no new date can be given for it.
