PTI govt makes historic move

ISLAMABAD: , Imran Khan has taken a big step to eradicate a major social evil in the Islamic way of life. According to reports, the federal government has started work on legislation to ban dowry. ۔

According to sources, the legislation proposes that the groom’s family will not be able to demand expensive furniture, vehicles, land, property or jewelery. Dowry will not neglect basic necessities according to Islamic teachings, some bridal clothes will be included in the dowry.

Sources said that it has been suggested that the amount of dowry or the value of goods should not exceed the price of 4 tolas of gold while the value of gifts given by guests will also be determined. That the law prohibiting dowry should be applied to all four provinces.
