In Peshawar, Kamran Bangash, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former provincial minister, has been apprehended. Following numerous attempts to evade arrest, Bangash was eventually taken into custody when the Peshawar police carried out a raid at his residence in the Chamkani area.
Kamran Bangash, a close associate of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, had been implicated in multiple corruption cases. However, his detention pertains to charges related to the violence that erupted on May 9th, subsequent to the arrest of the former prime minister.

Before this arrest, the Peshawar High Court had issued explicit orders to various authorities, including the police, instructing them not to engage in any unlawful actions against the family members of the former minister. This directive came as a response to a petition filed by Bangash’s brother, who alleged that the police had conducted unwarranted searches at their residence and subjected him and his family to harassment.
In this recent development, the police acted on information suggesting that fugitives might be present at Kamran Bangash’s house in Chamkani, leading to his arrest. He has subsequently been transferred to the Chamkani police station as authorities continue to investigate the case.
