Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said that the coming days, between March 24 to April 3, will be important for the country’s political future.

The Federal Minister said that the political committee chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan met for two hours. According to Sheikh Rasheed, the four matches scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi will now be played in Lahore. He said that the opposition plans to organize rallies, adding that PM Khan will also hold a rally on the 27th of March. 

According to Baaghi TV reports, no decision has been made concerning Governor Sindh, meanwhile, former President and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari, has instructed his PPP members to ensure attendance on polling day.

Premier Khan has also instructed his party workers to guarantee attendance on polling day. In addition, given the need to ensure security a three-day holiday is expected between March 21 and 24, with a parade on March 23rd in honor of Pakistan Resolution Day.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed further said, “I urge the disheartened MNAs of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) to return”. He continued that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, will decide the timings for the voting adding that the situation should not shift towards confrontation, political or otherwise. Sheikh Rasheed urged all members National Assembly to appear for voting, claiming no security threat is expected.

The Federal Interior Minister added that the opposition and the ruling PTI should hold a joint rally so that the situation does not escalate. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed further said that those who are lawful and genuine stand with friends while others depend on horse-trading and other dirty tactics. He said, “I say to all the allies and deviant members of the PTI Assembly, come back, and no one will say anything to you. We have been receiving reports for a long time about where our 10 to 12 party workers are. Sindh House has been turned into a stock exchange.”

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed further said that a heavy contingent of police was in charge of protecting the Australian team but now after the transfer of matches, the number of our contingent in the city will increase.

It is to be noted that the opposition has filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan. Voting on the no-confidence motion will take place on March 28th. Moreover, PTI has announced a rally on March 27 at D-Chowk, which Prime Minister Imran Khan will address. On March 25, the opposition alliance also asked its workers to reach D-Chowk. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he would arrive at D-Chowk on March 25 and would decide how long he would stay.
