Condolences pour in as PTI’s MPA succumbed to COVID

Shaheen Raza, a PTI MPA in the Punjab Assembly, died of COVID-19 Wednesday morning. She was 69. According to Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Sohail Akhtar, Raza was under treatment at Lahore’s Mayo Hospital. Shaheen Raza had been quarantined in DHQ Hospital after she showed symptoms of COVID-19 on May 16. That is when her sample had been sent to be tested. Once it came positive, she was shifted to Mayo Hospital and put on the ventilator on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar have expressed their grief at the PTI leader’s demise. Raza’s body will reach Gujranwala by evening where she will be buried under coronavirus SOPs.
