Supreme Court to take up PTI leader Vawda’s plea against disqualification today

Lahore, 7th March: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has invited applications for a National Assembly seat (NA-249) vacated by Federal Minister for Water and Resources Faisal Vawda.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, PTI has called for the new applicants for NA-249 after Faisal Vawda submitted his resignation, hours before winning a Senate seat from Sindh province.

PTI Karachi chief Khurrum Sher Zaman made the announcement that they have invited applications from the candidates on NA-249 after Faisal Vawda submitted his resignation.

He said, “A parliamentary board of the party will make a final decision after the applications are received.

We will once again win this seat with a majority.”

According to reports, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has also invited applications from the candidates seeking a party ticket to contest NA-249 by-elections.

It is being said that applications can be sent to Bilawal House, Karachi or Party office in Islamabad with the required formalities within a week.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to field former finance minister Miftah Ismail for expected by-polls on NA seat from Karachi.

According to reports, PML-N’s Miftah Ismail will be the contesting candidate from the NA-249 Karachi seat. The PML-N candidate will be a joint candidate of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

As per reports, the ECP has yet to announce its decision regarding Vawda’s disqualification and holding of by-polls in the constituency.

According to earlier reports, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared on Wednesday that it could not disqualify Federal Minister for Water Resource Faisal Vawda after his resignation from the National Assembly seat.
