PTI Takes Away Ministership from Liaquat Khattak over Electoral Defeat in Nowshera
Peshawar, 20th February 2021: PTI has removed Parvez Khattak’s brother Liaquat Khattak from his post as Provincial Minister for Irrigation over his support of the PMLN candidate in the PK 63 Nowshera by-election. A notification has been issued to this effect.
According to details, the brother of Federal Minister for Defence was dismissed from his post after PTI suffered a defeat in their home constituency.
It may be noted that PTI suffered a major upset in PK 63 Nowshera, where the PMLN candidate won. According to unofficial results, PMLN candidate Ikhtiar Wali has bagged victory with 21,122 votes from the 102 polling stations. On the other hand, PTI’s Mian Omer Kakakhel remained runner-up with 17,023 votes. This amounts to a considerable margin of 4099 votes.
