Punjab announces the date of opening of educational institutions
Provincial Education Minister, Dr. Murad Raas has announced a tentative date for the reopening of all private and public schools in the province.
According to the details, schools will be reopened from September 15 once the situation of coronavirus in Punjab is brought under control. However, the SOPs are fully prepared to open the school.
Murad Raas tweeted on social networking site Twitter that schools in Punjab would reopen from September 15 once the situation of coronavirus is improved in the province.

Murad Raas said the opening of the school was possible only if the epidemic was brought under control. He said that SOPs are fully prepared to open the school and parents will be informed about SOPs soon. Murad Raas added that all reports of the school opening before September 15 were baseless.

It is to be noted that according to the SOPs prepared by the Punjab Education Department for opening schools, no more than 20 children will be accommodated in a class. Children will be taught in morning and evening shifts in schools with limited space. Under SOPs, there will be room for 2 students instead of 3 at one desk. Children will be taught Mathematics, English and Science, however rest of the subjects will be given to do at home.
According to the SOPs prepared by the Punjab Education Department, cleaning of hands with sanitizer will be made mandatory in every school. Moreover, the schools will have to buy sanitizers from their own budget.
