Punjab Bar Council Ranges Itself Alongside Lawyers of Islamabad
11th February 2021: The Punjab Bar Council has ranged itself alongside the lawyers in Islamabad, in the wake of the shocking incident of vandalism at the Islamabad High Court. The Punjab Bar Council has issued a statement to the effect.
The statement is as follows: “Punjab Bar Council stands with Legal fraternity of Islamabad Bar & strongly condemn the brutality of CDA Isb and also condemned the FIR against innocent lawyers & misbehaviour with lawyers family & demanded to withdraw the false FIRs & also release the innocent lawyers of Islamabad. The lawyers of Rawalpindi Division will observe full day strike on “12-02-2021”.
The statement was signed by Mr Amjad Iqbal Khan, Vice Chairman, and Sardar Abdul Basit Khan Baloch, Chairman, of the Executive Committee.
Meanwhile, lawyers have registered a strong protest against the arrest of Secretary Islamabad Bar Association Hafiz Liaquat Manzoor Kamboh, from the F8 courts by CIA police. Lawyers said that arresting an elected member of any institution from its premises, is an insult to said institution. They said they strongly condemn the arrest of the Secretary Islamabad Bar Association.
They demanded that the harassment of the Islamabad Bar Association and other lawyers needs to stop immediately.
