Punjab Chief Secretary ‘refuses’ to work with CM Pervez Elahi

Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal, in a letter to the Establishment Division,  excused to work more with the Punjab government and Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi.

In his letter, Punjab CS said, “I am writing to convey that owing to personal reasons, it is not possible for me to continue to my current assignment. It is there, requested that my services may kindly be withdrawn with immediate effect

Earlier, when PTI won by-elections with majority seats and it was almost certain that Pervez Elahi would be the next CM of the province, both Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal and Inspector-General Punjab Rao Sardar requested transfer of their services to the Centr

The federal cabinet approved the appointment of Kamran Ali Afzal as the Punjab chief secretary according to a notification from the Cabinet Secretariat in September 2021.

The new Punjab chief secretary belongs to the 21st Common of the District Management Group.
