Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to reduce the price of roti across the province, in line with the recent decline in flour prices.

Chairing a meeting on commodity prices in Lahore on Thursday, she directed the Price Control Department to take immediate steps to revise roti rates and ensure that benefit of reduced flour costs reaches common people.

Vowing to bring the cost of bread to lowest level, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that food inflation disproportionately affects the poor and must be tackled with urgency.

She reiterated her commitment to protect vulnerable segments of society from the burden of food inflation.
