Punjab Faces 2000MW Energy Shortfall
LAHORE: According to reports of Lahore Electric Supply(LESCO) Punjab is facing 2000MW Energy shortfall.
LESCO spokesperson has said that Punjab is currently dealing with the shortfall of 2000MW due to which the urban and rural areas are facing power cuts.
According to LESCO official, the Lahore grid stations are overloaded which are resulting in tripping of the stations.
According to sources of power division, due to the low level of inflows in Tarbela Dam the load shedding has increased across the province. Powerhouses have no supply of oil and gas.
Reportedly, in the next two r three days the situation will be improved.
In Pakistan, the overall energy shortfall had reached 6000MW. The Overall power supply from in the country is almost 19000MW. While the required demand is 25000MW.
Load shedding has reached six to eight hours daily in big cities, while in small towns and villages it is up to 10 hours.
