LAHORE: Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department has issued notification of SOPs regarding educational institutions in the province.

The SOPs issued by Primary and Secondary Health Care Punjab said that holding of morning assembly, indoor games, swings, slides, sports activities, seminars, speech competitions, sports competitions and tournaments will be banned.

According to the notification, wearing of face masks will be compulsory, moreover, 50% of the total capacity in school buses will have to be used and only 30% of the capacity will be used for hostel facilities while soap and hand sanitizers will have to be provided to the students.

In addition, students and staff with respiratory problems will be confined to their homes.

The notification also directed that comprehensive cleaning and disinfection of educational institutions should be done 3 days before the commencement of educational activities. Educational institutions should also be disinfected on a daily basis, keeping a social distance of 6 feet mandatory.

The notification further said that students should abide by the ban on shaking hands, compulsory social distance during school admission and holidays. Furthermore, students should also keep social distance when teachers give lectures and bring their lunch from home. The body temperature of all children in the educational institutions should be checked with a thermal gun and a separate health log book should be prepared for all the students.

It should be noted that the federal government and the four provinces have agreed to open the school from September 15, but the final decision in this regard will be made on September 7.
