Punjab transport dept sets target to go on commercialization drive

Lahore, October 6th – Ibrahim Murad, the Provincial Minister of Transport, has revealed the Department of Transport’s ambitious plan to boost revenue through privatization initiatives. One of the key strategies in this endeavor involves the branding and renaming of metro stations.

A recent review meeting, presided over by Ibrahim Murad himself, delved into the comprehensive transportation plan crafted by CBP Punjab.

During the meeting, Minister Ibrahim Murad extended a unique invitation to CBP Punjab, urging them to consider acquiring branding rights for the Kalma Chowk Metro Station. He emphasized the staggering statistics: the Orange Line Train serves a remarkable 260 million passengers annually, while the Metro Bus system accommodates a staggering one hundred seventy thousand passengers each day, exceeding its designed capacity by a notable 73%.

Given the surging fuel prices, the public’s preference for Metro Buses and the Orange Line Train as their commuting mode is on the rise. To meet this escalating demand, plans are underway to introduce the Feeder Bus system in other cities.

The Department of Transport remains resolute in its commitment to providing the highest quality facilities to the general public, ensuring that Metro Bus and the Orange Line Train continue to be reliable and efficient modes of transportation.”
