Rains inundate Germany and Belgium

Western Europe: Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in Germany and Belgium on Friday, with at least 120 people dead and hundreds missing.

Baaghi TV: According to foreign media, rescue crews have started searching for possible survivors of the floods. Heavy rains and floods have also wreaked havoc in Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a press conference after visiting a flood-hit area on Saturday that he was “shocked” by the devastation caused by the floods.

Mr Steinmeier said the floods had wreaked havoc everywhere, with many people losing what they had built all their lives, while rescue teams in Germany were facing difficulties due to standing floodwaters. The families of the missing are anxiously waiting to find out about their loved ones.

Germany’s telephone network has been severely damaged by floods, roads have been damaged and more than 100,000 homes have been cut off from power.

Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Minister Roger Leventz told local media that the death toll could rise further if people have been missing for so long. If you can’t hear, you have to be prepared for the worst.

At least 20 people have been killed in floods in Belgium, and the army has been called in to help rescue operations in four provinces. Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Cruz has declared July 20 a national day of mourning. The most devastating event ever in our country.

In Switzerland, however, the flow of water in lakes and rivers has increased after heavy rains.
