A review meeting was held on the progress regarding the housing supply project.

The meeting was informed that negotiations and design matters with the consultants in the Ravi City project have entered the final stages. The meeting was briefed on the progress of the wastewater plant and informed that steps are being taken to hold an investor conference soon. Participants were also briefed on the progress made in land acquisition in the project.

The Prime Minister was informed in the briefing regarding the Central Business District project and the relocation of Walton Airport that the commercial, retail and residential zoning of the project is being done under international high standards. The project will be completed under a new concept with regard to construction.
The meeting was briefed on the proposed projects for construction of low cost houses for the low income group under the vision of the Prime Minister in the vicinity of small towns of Punjab province.

The meeting was briefed that the projects of low cost 3 to 5 marla houses would initially be around 25 to 27 districts of the province and later their scope would be gradually extended to 87 different locations. The Punjab government will provide land as well as capital in the initial phase and in the next phase subsidy will be provided under mortgage financing.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to set timelines and start the project as soon as possible in view of its usefulness for the poor and low income group.
